- Bachelor's degree in subject + B.Ed. in same subject (e.g., B.Sc. Mathematics + B.Ed. Mathematics)
- Teaching experience: KHDA prefers at least 2 years of classroom teaching experience for primary appointments; secondary roles typically require 3+ years
- KHDA does not issue teaching permits directly to individual teachers - the school applies for your approval once you are hired

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK)
ADEK's requirements are similar but include an additional step: teachers must complete the ADEK Teacher Licensing examination once employed. This is a post-hire requirement, not a pre-departure one.
